Job summary

Amcor Rigid Packaging in Ames, IA is seeking a Machine Operator on a 12-hour shift (7a-7p), four days on and four days off. You will operate blow molding machinery, monitor production flow, and ensure parts meet quality standards.

The role requires basic schooling or equivalent, forklift certification, and the ability to read gauges and reports. You will work at multiple stations, train new operators, and maintain housekeeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Randomly check parts produced every hour for conformance to customer specifications.
• Monitor flow of parts into assembling machinery, secondary equipment, and storage containers.
• Tend molding equipment and related machinery according to product standards.
• Work at different work stations as production needs require.
• Assist in training new operators as needed.
• Check finished parts for defects (grease, flash, punctures, etc.).
• Complete daily reports of parts produced and scrap parts.
