Job summary

Amcor is seeking a task-oriented Blow Molding Operator to optimize blow molding equipment and produce high-quality containers. You will follow established procedures, ensure safety and quality, and contribute to process improvements.

The role requires hands-on operation of blow molding platforms, reading mold drawings, and documenting data. It emphasizes safety consciousness, accuracy, and teamwork within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in blow molding.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • High energy level with ability to learn quickly.
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to become certified operating forklifts and overhead cranes.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and comply with safety rules and guidelines.
  • Set up and operate 2 blow molding platforms.
  • Interpret mold assembly drawings to set up components.
  • Explain the process of converting a preform into a bottle.
  • Measure and inspect bottle samples per procedures.
  • Document process data and machine issues.
  • Conduct scheduled safety, GMP, and HACCP audits.
  • Perform general housekeeping and basic maintenance.
  • Operate forklift and cranes as required.
  • Meet timelines and aggressive schedules.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in writing policies and procedures for equipment and training.
  • Help train others as needed.

Job Description

This is a task-oriented position that optimizes the use of blow molding equipment to produce the best possible containers. Performs fundamental work using existing procedures. Understands safety, quality, and blow mold processing.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties
  • Understand and comply with all safety rules and guidelines in accordance with Amcor's safety requirements, programs, and initiatives.
  • Able to demonstrate how to set up and operate 2 different blow molding platforms.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of mold assembly drawings to be able to setup and install blow mold components correctly.
  • Demonstrates and can explain the process of converting a preform into a bottle.
  • Able to measure and inspect bottle samples following established procedures.
  • Accurately document process information, quality data, and machine or tooling related issues.
  • Conduct scheduled audits for Safety, GMP, and HACCP.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties and basic maintenance.
  • Operate forklifts and cranes.
  • Meet timelines and deliver on aggressive schedule and work assignments.
  • Participate in continuous improvement.
  • Participate in the writing of policies and procedures related to departmental capabilities, technology, equipment, systems and training.
  • Assist with training others as needed.
