Job summary

Amcor is seeking a manufacturing shift supervisor to lead the blow mold and packaging team on a 12-hour, 2-2-3 schedule. You will ensure safety, maintain quality, control processes, and guide operators through training and troubleshooting to meet efficiency targets.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, data review, downtime logging, and effective communication with the shift supervisor and maintenance staff.

  • Performs preventive maintenance and assists with new machine setups.
  • Reviews data daily to meet efficiency targets and completes downtime reports.
  • Communicates issues to supervisors, technicians, and operations manager.
  • Operates machines when needed and covers operator breaks.
  • Maintains a clean work environment.

Role Overview

Controls the process, maintains quality standards and ensures continuous improvement of the total blow mold process to include: blow mold and packaging equipment. Shift: 12 hour, 2-2-3 schedule.

Key accountabilities and tasks for this role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Leads the blow mold and packaging team members assigned to the shift and is the first point of contact for operators.
  • Ensures operations are completed in accordance with Amcor Rigid Plastics USA Inc. safety procedures and ensures team members are working in a safe manner and identifies and corrects unsafe work practices.
  • Ensures plant quality standards are being met and maintained by the department.
  • Controls the process of multiple blow mold machines using written work instructions, visual management, and computer interface.
  • Evaluates and improves operator’s skill level and assist in training operators.
  • Troubleshoots and performs adjustments to the machines to correct improper functions.
  • Assists with new machine setups.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on machines.
  • Reviews process data daily to ensure department is meeting or exceeding efficiency requirements.
  • Completes downtime reports and error logs.
  • Effectively communicates issues to the shift supervisor, maintenance technicians and operations manager.
  • Operates machines and completes all duties of the machine operator in their absence.
  • Provides coverage for operator breaks.
  • Ensures the department maintains a clean work environment.
  • Additional duties will be assigned by Operations Manager or Shift Supervisor as business changes require.
