At MKBC, we save lives every day by providing blood products to hospitals in PA and NJ. The part-time Blood Inventory Coordinator position supports the Blood Center by Perform procedures related to Quality Control, storage, inventory, packing and shipping of blood and blood components. The anticipated salary starts at $16.15 per hour and is commensurate with experience. In addition, Miller-Keystone offers the following to all full-time employees:

What you will be doing:

  • Receives and assure that STAT requests are met in an expedited manner; contacts and follows up to find an available driver and assure that the STAT turn around is held in the highest regard.
  • Support Blood Inventory by completing various tasks related to previous day returns, expired products, blood products received from outside vendors, restocking with new products.
  • Responsible to correctly pack all customer blood product orders to customer specifications and per established SOPs.

What you will bring to the role:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • 1 years' experience in customer service is required.
  • 1 years' experience handling incoming shipments and preparing/packaging/shipping is preferred.
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions, seeking appropriate guidance as necessary.
  • Ability to work for short periods of time in the walk-in freezer (-30°C)
  • Able to effectively interact with people
  • Fluent experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

Additional information:

  • This position reports directly to the Distribution Manager.
  • This position requires scheduling flexibility but works the core hours of 7am - 3pm, with a rotating schedule working 3 days in one week and 4 days the next. The rotation cover weekends and call.
  • To best meet the needs of our donors and community, staff work a variable schedule which may include early mornings, late nights, and on-call to cover weekends and holidays.
  • A schedule is provided two weeks in advance.
