Job Description

Job Overview

Utilize your healthcare and customer service skills to assist with blood collection. Responsibilities include transporting and setting up equipment, creating a welcoming environment for donors, and following safety procedures to collect lifesaving blood donations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Connect personally with donors, sharing the impact of their donations.
  • Create a welcoming environment to encourage repeat donations.
  • Ensure accuracy and safety in blood collection.
  • May operate Red Cross vehicles and assist with setup and teardown at donation sites. A minimum height of 60 inches may be required for vehicle operation.
Schedule (Portland, Maine)
  • Variable shifts Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday, with one day off.
  • Schedule may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, with possible overnight travel.
  • Schedules are provided 2-3 weeks in advance.
Pay and Benefits
  • Starting pay: $21.57/hour
  • Sign-on bonus: $3,000
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, or pull heavy weights, and adapt to long or irregular hours. Minimum height of 60 inches may be required.
  • Basic computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.).
  • Leadership experience.
