Qualifications

Full license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in New York or eligibility.
License requirements supersede some educational prerequisites as described by NYS regulations.
Clinical laboratory or blood bank experience from an accredited setting.

Responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day operations of the blood bank and donor center.
Supervise and support technical and non-technical staff in transfusion services.
Coordinate collection, processing, storage, testing, and distribution of blood products.
Ensure availability of blood products to support patient treatment needs.
Perform and monitor laboratory testing procedures, including complex assays.
Maintain high standards for quality, accuracy, and patient safety.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational requirements.
Assist with staff training, scheduling, and performance management.
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams.
Provide administrative support to department leadership and seek process improvements.
