Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a chemical, physical or biological science from an accredited university.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant laboratory tech and/or leadership experience.
• Technologist/Scientist/Specialist Certification from ASCP or equivalent.
• Experience supervising and training staff and ensuring QA and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversees testing accuracy and timely performance per procedure manual.
• Collects and labels specimens; responds to STAT samples.
• Ensures QC procedures and reviews results before reporting.
• Follows safety and identification procedures; maintains GMP/Blood Bank QA compliance.
• Supports ongoing education; coordinates staff training and development.
• Manages scheduling, workload coverage, and training of less experienced staff.
• Enforces safety policies and PPE usage to protect staff and facility.
• Promotes professional image and customer service within the lab.
• Performs supervisory duties; manages inventory and equipment; coordinates vendor services.
• Assists with CAP/AABB/FACT inspections and related compliance activities.
• Collaborates with Manager to update procedure manuals and implement changes.
