Job summary

Qualifications

• BS in Life Science or Medical Technology.
• New York State licensure as Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• Four+ years of clinical laboratory experience as Medical Lab Technologist or Clinical Lab Scientist.
• One+ year of supervisory experience in a laboratory setting.
• Experience with QC/QA and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and oversees daily operations and work assignments to ensure timely and accurate result reporting.
• Provides day-to-day supervision of personnel performing moderate and high complexity testing.
• Monitors test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure acceptable analytic performance.
• Ensures timely reporting of patient test results and corrective actions as needed.
• Reviews quality improvement data and participates in problem resolution implementation.
• Implements new test systems and processes while meeting regulatory requirements.
• Participates in departmental budgeting and identifies cost-saving opportunities.
• Provides orientation and training to testing personnel and annual competency evaluations.
