Job summary

Phoebe Putney Health System is seeking a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician for the Blood Bank. The position requires blood bank experience and either a 2-year/AS degree in Medical Technology or CLIA high-complexity qualifications. Certification through ASCP or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 year / Associate Degree in Medical Technology OR meet CLIA minimum qualifications for high complexity testing personnel.
• 1 year of laboratory experience required if degree is not in Medical Technology.
• Certification by ASCP, AMT, NCA, AAB, or other approved agencies.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates technical skill in using equipment appropriate for the role.
• Documents and submits required information and data in a timely fashion.
• Provides assistance to the department in accurate and timely results of tests.
• Maintains and develops professional skills and knowledge.
• Attends staff meetings and competency evaluations on time.
