Job summary

Mueller Copper Tube Company, LLC. is hiring an Annealing Furnace Helper to unload, insulate, coil and package copper tube material processed by the Annealing Furnace.

The role requires performing each task individually and may involve building large boxes, moving coils up to 50 pounds, and operating belt and coiler equipment to complete insulation and packaging.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform each listed task.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Able to operate foot pedals and manual tools.
• Box assembly and packing requires accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assemble large cardboard boxes (51 inches tall) and seal with tape.
• Operate control panel to move long copper tubes between rollers and insulation area.
• Push/pull on large bundles of copper tubes and coils through rollers.
• Apply insulation to copper tubes using foot pedal on the insulating conveyor.
• Cut insulation with scissors as needed and cap coil ends.

Job description

The primary responsibilities of the Annealing Furnace Helper is to unload, insulate, coil, and package copper tube material that is processed through the Annealing Furnace. The Annealing Furnace Helpers are responsible for performing one of the tasks at a time and are required to be able to perform each task. The Annealing Furnace Helpers are also responsible for building large boxes to package the finished and insulated coils of copper tube.

1. Assemble large cardboard boxes with packing tape. Boxes are 51" tall and weigh 24 pounds when completed and empty
2. Operate push button control panel to transfer long copper tube material from machine rollers to insulating area rollers
3. Push and pull on large flat bundles of copper tubes and coils to move down rollers. (Requires up to 50 pounds of force pushing and pulling up to 20 times per shift)
4. Constantly place insulation onto copper tube and use foot pedal to operate insulating conveyor belt (up to 500 times per day)
5. Use scissors to cut insulation (up to 500 times per day)
6. Place caps on ends of coils and lift coils that weigh up to 35 pounds and place into box that is 51" tall (up to 500 times per shift)
7. Constantly use foot pedal to operate coiler machine up to 500 times per shift (Requires pushing/pulling up to 40 pounds of force each time)
8. Lift coil off coiler machine and carry to table for packaging
9. Use reacher bar to push and pull flat bundles of copper tubes (Requires up to 50 pounds of force)
10. Push and pull on flat bundles of copper tubes with hands
