Job summary

Jobtailor in Indianapolis is seeking a hands-on maintenance-focused team member to operate and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment used in food production. You will record batch data, follow recipes, and help ensure safety, quality, and KPI targets are met.

This role requires poor-downtime focus, ability to analyze data, and collaboration with operators and other mechanics to continuously improve the operation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • 1 year of mechanical experience in a manufacturing or maintenance environment.
  • Good communication skills with operators, other mechanics, and resources.
  • Ability to analyze data and make decisions/recommendations based on analysis.
  • Ability and willingness to operate and support a positive culture and follow established values.
  • Proactive individual that takes responsibility for their equipment, line, coworkers, and the continuous improvement of the operation.
  • Able to work in a team environment where honest communication, a positive attitude, engagement, and personal accountability is expected.
  • Able to work with computers (navigating systems, recording information, using to find information to perform the job)
  • Ability to understand oral and written instructions in English
  • Good job performance and attendance records
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate equipment that mixes or blends ingredients used in the manufacturing of food products.
  • Ensure that safety, quality, production, and cost KPIs are achieved.
  • Be a primary point of contact for assigned machine and troubleshoot improvements.
  • Record production and test data for each food product batch.
  • Follow recipes to produce food products of specified flavor, texture, clarity, bouquet, or color.
  • Clean and sterilize blenders and factory processing areas.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment; provide assistance for adjustments as needed.
  • Develop problem-solving skills to optimize production with a positive contribution to key plant indicators.
