Job summary

New Weds Foods in Chicago is seeking a team-oriented individual to learn and perform all department tasks to relieve associates during breaks and to act as team lead during non-break periods. You will learn to operate and run all equipment to keep lines moving and complete related paperwork using the computer system.

Responsibilities include leading production to meet standards, teaching procedures, ensuring sanitation, planning work assignments with the Supervisor, and supporting ELO

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma is required.
• 6+ months experience in food production/manufacturing.
• Able to lift up to 80 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Must be able to type to operate a computer and run reports.
• Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills for the job.

• Learn and operate all equipment to keep the line running during breaks.
• Prepare and complete paperwork and reports using the computer system; oversee reports by others.
• Ensure sanitation requirements are followed by all employees.
• Perform scale checks and teach others the procedures.
• Plan work assignments and trainings with the Supervisor and assist in verifications.
• Perform other related duties as needed.

Job Summary:

To learn and perform all jobs within the department to be able to relieve employees as they break and to act as the team lead during non-break periods. Learns to operate and operates all equipment in the departments.

Essential Functions:

• Act as the Team Lead for the Department Supervisor by leading employees in the production of the products to meet and /or exceed production standards.
• Learn to operate and operates all equipment to keep the line running by operating all equipment as employees take their breaks.
• Learn to prepare and prepares all paperwork using the computer system. Complete reports and checklists as assigned and oversee the paperwork prepared by all team members.
• Learn the Sanitation requirements and ensures that all employees comply with the requirements.
• Operates all department equipment as listed above.
• Performs scale checks according to procedures. Teaches others the procedures and verifies their compliance.
• Works with the Supervisor to plan and prepare work assignments and trainings.
• Assists in ELO Verifications.
• Performs other related duties as needed.

Salary:

Starting at $20.21 to $25.27 an hour.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent education, training or experience (GED)
• 6+ months' experience in a food production/ food manufacturing environment.
• Job requires constant standing, lifting, and moving products most of the day.
• Ability to type to operate a computer to enter and run reports.
• Mathematical and problem-solving skills to successfully perform the job.
• Must not have an aversion to heights.
• Must be able to consistently lift to 80 lbs.
• Willing to work 12 hours shift and weekends.

Work Environment:

The job is performed in production areas where the person will be exposed to strong aromas, airborne dust particles emanating from ingredients being used, and will be in the presence of or otherwise operating machinery.
