Job summary

Florida Scholars Academy instructors provide remediation, acceleration, and academic growth for at‑risk students within Florida Virtual School’s framework. The role emphasizes a passion for helping students reach their full potential in residential facilities statewide.

Responsibilities include delivering engaging instruction, supervising classes, and collaborating with teachers, DJJ staff, and families to support continuous student progress through both online and in-person modalities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university.
• Valid Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in content area OR enrollment in state-approved program with Eligibility/Temporary Certificate.
• ESE Certification and ESOL/Reading endorsements preferred.
• Experience teaching in subject area or FLVS internship program.
• Strong knowledge of Internet and Web-related technologies; proficient with digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and implement engaging instructional activities for assigned subjects.
• Identify, select, create, and modify resources for diverse learners.
• Supervise students and maintain attendance records.
• Collaborate with supervisor and peers to improve instructional practices.
• Deliver blended learning through online and in-facility instruction; report to assigned facility.
