Job summary

Florida Virtual School (FLVS) seeks an Instructor for the Florida Scholars Academy in Hastings, FL to deliver remedial and general academics in residential facilities. The role focuses on educating at-risk students and aligning with DJJ program requirements.

You will plan lessons, assess progress, and collaborate with teachers and supervisors while reporting student growth. This on-site role requires strong classroom management and communication across state facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
• Florida Professional Teaching Certificate or active enrollment in state-approved EPI/MAT with eligibility.
• ESE Certification preferred; ESOL/Reading endorsements preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with at-risk students and in residential facilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and implement engaging instructional activities in assigned subject(s).
• Identify and adapt resources for diverse learners and backgrounds.
• Supervise students and maintain attendance records.
• Collaborate with supervisor and peers to enhance instructional environments.
• Communicate with students, families, and stakeholders within timelines.
• Provide tutoring and assess student progress.
• Report to assigned residential facility and support DJJ requirements.
