Job summary

Sterling Multi-Chem is seeking an entry-level Blend Operator I in Pasadena, TX. The role supports blending, packaging, transfer, and handling of chemical products under supervision, following approved procedures and batch instructions.

You will work with a Production Supervisor and more experienced operators while developing skills to perform tasks independently.

Qualifications

• Read and follow batch sheets, procedures and safety requirements.
• Maintain batch records and documentation accurately.
• Support blending, packaging and transfer of products.
• Coordinate with Quality personnel for sampling as required.
• Be willing to learn industrial equipment and processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine blending and production activities per batch sheets and work instructions.
• Operate pumps, valves, hoses, mixers, scales, forklifts after training.
• Transfer and package finished products into trailers, totes and drums.
• Obtain product samples and coordinate with Quality personnel as required.
• Complete batch records and required checklists accurately.
• Follow all safety, environmental, quality and chemical-handling requirements.
• Identify and report spills, leaks, equipment issues, deviations or unsafe conditions.
• Participate in required training and continuous-improvement activities.

Job description

The Blend Operator I is an entry-level production position responsible for safely supporting the blending, packaging, transfer, and handling of chemical products. This role operates production equipment, follows approved procedures and batch instructions, maintains accurate documentation, and supports safe and efficient facility operations.

The position works under the direction of the Production Supervisor and with guidance from more experienced operators while developing the skills required to perform production activities independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine chemical blending and production activities according to approved batch sheets, procedures, and work instructions.
• Operate pumps, valves, hoses, mixers, scales, forklifts, and other production equipment after required training.
• Transfer and package finished products into trailers, totes, drums, and other approved containers.
• Obtain product samples and coordinate with Quality personnel as required.
• Complete batch records, production documentation, and required checklists accurately.
• Follow all safety, environmental, quality, and chemical-handling requirements.
• Identify and promptly report spills, leaks, equipment issues, process deviations, or unsafe conditions.
• Participate in required training and continuous-improvement activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous manufacturing, chemical, industrial, warehouse, or material-handling experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and follow written procedures, batch instructions, safety requirements, and chemical labels.
• Basic math and documentation skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn industrial equipment and processes.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification and complete required safety and operational training.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as business needs require.
