Job summary

LPX Group is seeking a Blasting Laborer to support drilling and blasting operations across worksites in Kentucky and Indiana. You will assist with pattern layout, explosive handling, and mat placement under the Blaster’s guidance, ensuring safe operations and proper communication with the team.

The role requires physical endurance, willingness to learn blasting processes, and the ability to work long hours in outdoor environments while supporting-wide safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Previous construction or blasting experience preferred but not required.
• Willing to work long hours if necessary.
• Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with layout and preparation of blast patterns and shot areas.
• Assist with unloading and handling explosives and magazine inventory.
• Assist with loading explosives into drill holes under the direction of the Blaster.
• Assist with stemming drill holes and wiring shots.
• Assist with placement, movement, and removal of blasting mats.
• Support site communication, blast-area security, traffic control, and other safety tasks.
• Load and unload tools, equipment, and construction materials.
• Operate equipment such as skid steers, loaders and backhoes as needed.
