Job summary

Austin Powder is seeking a Blaster in Charge to oversee drilling patterns, blast layout, and safe detonation at customer sites in California. The role requires reviewing diagrams, coordinating with field staff, and ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will hold a state blasting license, have knowledge of initiation systems and seismographs, and be able to work outdoors in varying conditions. Travel to customer locations is expected as part of the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current blaster's license as required by state.
• Experience with initiation systems, laser profiling, and seismographs.

Responsibilities

• Review drill patterns and diagrams to determine product and shot layout to meet customer needs.
• Communicate blast details with all personnel on site.
• Prepare and detonate shots safely and successfully.
• Conduct pre/post Shot Safety Audits and documentation per policy.
• Ensure crew complies with customers' policies/procedures.
• Coordinate handling of customer issues, incidents, and public concerns related to the event with APC personnel.
• Communicate with the sales representative and Location Manager regarding customer accounts.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring compliance at the location, customer sites, and during transit as required by regulation and company policy.
• Comply with APC inventory management procedures.
• Complete and maintain necessary paperwork or software as required by policies and agencies.
• Other duties as assigned.
