Job summary

The University of La Verne invites applications for a part-time, non-instructional adjunct Course Developer in Black Studies. The role focuses on creating foundational Intro to Black Studies and a second course on Methodologies/Theories, with Spring 2024 deployment and up to 20 hours per week.

Some work may be remote, but in-person presence on the La Verne campus (50-60%) is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Black Studies, Africana Studies, or an equivalent area of expertise.
• Submit a cover letter, resume, a copy of graduate transcript, and a list of 3–5 references (included on the resume).

Responsibilities

• Develop a minimum of two courses (foundational and disciplinary) in Black Studies.
• Assist with review and/or redesign of the Black Studies minor.
• Complete curricular review processes and ensure course implementation by Spring 2024.
• Work up to 20 hours per week, with some in-person on the La Verne campus and some remote work.

Education

Master’s degree in Black Studies or Africana Studies

Ph.D. preferred
