Job summary

MHG Hotels is seeking a friendly Bistro Server who welcomes guests with genuine care, delivers attentive service, and engages in polite conversation while sharing small stories when appropriate.

You will help prepare the food for the day, set up the Bistro, coordinate with the kitchen and the primary manager, and maintain a clean, safe dining area in line with company policies.

• Professional demeanor and warm personality.

• Experience in bartending is a plus.
• Willingness to perform other reasonable duties as requested by Supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with genuine care.
• Deliver highly attentive service.
• Engage in polite conversation as time allows.
• Be fully informed of the Bistro menu.
• Prepare the food for the same day as well as upcoming days.
• Set up Bistro for the shift (AM/PM).
• Look over inventory and communicate orders with primary manager.
• Cook food.
• Serve food and drinks.
• Set up and maintain cleanliness of Bistro and kitchen.
• Process all payment methods.
• Follow company cash handling policies.
• Clean up after your shift and prepare for the next shift.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment in Bistro and kitchen.
• Ensure the Bistro and its equipment are clean and fully functional.
• Occasionally diffuse difficult situations.
• Comply with liquor laws.

As a Bistro Server, you will:

To be a successful Bistro Server, this role requires:

• A professional demeanor, a warm and welcoming personality, and ability to engage easily and actively connect with others is required.
• Must be genuinely caring, compassionate, and comfortable conversing with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and at all organizational levels.
• Speak with others using clear and professional language.
• Previous bartending experience is a big plus.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Minimum Requirements:

The Bistro Server role requires standing for long periods of time, or entire shift. Professional appearance and clean uniform. Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than 30 pounds without assistance.
