Job summary

Avion Hospitality is seeking a Bistro Cook to prepare and present high-quality Bistro items while supporting the hotel's fast-paced F&B operations. You will work independently at times, ensuring food quality, safety, and a superior guest experience.

The role blends cooking skills with guest interactions in a hospitality-focused environment. The ideal candidate enjoys preparing great food and engaging with guests, and understands that every Bistro interaction contributes to the overall hotel

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in cooking, food preparation, restaurant, hotel, café, or F&B is preferred.
• Experience in fast-paced food service is preferred.
• Starbucks or barista experience is a plus but not required.
• Food Handler certification as required by regulations.
• Additional food safety certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Comply with Avion Hospitality brand and food safety standards.
• Prepare, cook, and present Bistro menu items per recipes and brand standards.
• Maintain food quality, temperature, and presentation.
• Manage food prep and production based on business levels and par levels.
• Maintain knowledge of Bistro menus, ingredients, and substitutions.
• Ensure proper labeling, dating, rotation, and storage of all food.
• Follow sanitation procedures including handwashing and cross-contamination prevention.
• Complete required temperature and sanitation logs.
• Keep kitchen and Bistro areas clean and organized.
• Set up and break down cooking stations for each shift.
• Monitor inventory and communicate replenishment needs.
• Receive and store deliveries properly and rotate stock.
• Minimize food waste through proper portioning and storage.
• Provide friendly, attentive service to guests.
• Take guest orders accurately and assist with menu questions.
• Operate the POS system and process transactions.
