Responsibilities

• Functioning as the charge RN, directing and supervising patient care within the department.
• Oversees daily operations and staffing to ensure appropriate care management.
• Participates in evaluations of care delivery modalities and patient classification systems.
• Reviews patient care records for documentation and conducts chart audits.
• Provides staff education through coaching and formal in-service programs.
• Hires, terminates, counsels, and conducts performance evaluations as needed.
• Ensure patient care requirements are met and assist department director with policies.
• Investigates patient complaints in collaboration with leadership.
• Monitors productivity and manages staffing levels; ensures staff breaks.
