Job summary

The Utah Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) seeks a Birth Registration Manager to lead the birth registration team in Salt Lake City. You will supervise two staff, oversee birth and fetal death registration, and ensure data quality across statewide vital statistics systems.

This hybrid role offers day-to-day oversight, audits of hospital records, staff training, and statewide collaboration to support accurate registrations while maintaining compliance with OVRS statutes and policies.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership experience and ability to supervise staff.
• Excellent communication, mediation, and customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel for site audits and meetings.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead the birth registration team and supervise 2 staff.
• Register birth and fetal death records; assist with related forms.
• Provide technical and procedural support to users; handle inquiries.
• Review data quality reports and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Conduct hospital site audits and deliver timely feedback.
• Train staff and stakeholders on procedures and policies.
• Maintain weekly activity logs and publish newsletters for facilities.
