Job summary

Regions Hospital is seeking a friendly and organized Health Unit Coordinator to join the Birth Center. You will support Labor & Delivery, Post Partum/Newborn Nursery, and Special Care Nursery, handling clerical tasks and data entry to keep the unit running smoothly.

You will be the first contact on the unit, delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining patient records, while coordinating with staff and other departments under nurse leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year clerical or healthcare experience or recent (within 1 year) graduate of a clerical/healthcare training program.
• Demonstrates exceptional customer service and effective communication.
• Ability to manage time and set priorities in a busy unit.
• Proficient with computers and standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors; provide exceptional customer service.
• Organize, maintain unit supplies and patient records.
• Enter data into the electronic health record system accurately.
• Coordinate communication between staff, patients, families and departments.
