Job summary

Montgomery College, Germantown Campus, is seeking adjunct/part-time faculty to teach Biotechnology courses, including Introduction to Biotechnology and Cell Culture, in a professional and engaging manner.

Candidates should hold a Master’s in Biotechnology or related field and be able to integrate technology into instruction while fostering belonging and inclusion for a diverse student body. Background check and degree verification are required.

Qualifications

• Master's in Biotechnology, Biological Sciences, Chemistry or a related major.
• Ability to integrate technology into course delivery.
• Ability to engage students in a belonging, multicultural setting.
• Commitment to promoting belonging, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational and work environment.
• Must have access to a personal computer with virus protection that can connect to the internet outside of the work location.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without a sponsor.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned lecture and/or laboratory courses in the biotechnology discipline.
• Plan, prepare (development of course syllabi, assessments, etc.) present, and coordinate classroom instruction and related activities.
• Teach a varied schedule of courses that may include daytime, evening, weekend and/or accelerated sections.
• Follow guidelines from department course coordinators to ensure content coverage across sections.
• Administer, grade and provide feedback in a timely manner to monitor student mastery and progress.
• Adhere to and enforce laboratory safety regulations.
• Meet deadlines to submit student mid-term and final grades.
