Job summary

Bio-Techne in San Marcos, CA, is seeking a Buyer to manage direct and indirect purchases, supplier relations, and inventory. You will source lab materials, negotiate with suppliers, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery and cost savings.

The role requires 2–5 years of purchasing experience, an AA degree or some college, and strong Excel skills. Duties include BPO tasks and cross-functional collaboration to support project needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-5 years purchasing experience.
• AA degree or some college preferred.
• Experience in medical/diagnostic/biotechnology production setting preferred.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Purchase raw materials, lab supplies, scientific equipment and services.
• Maintain inventory levels and coordinate with departments to meet usage plans.
• Identify supplier options, evaluate reliability, and negotiate terms.
• Expedite orders and communicate delivery issues to internal customers.
• Assist with cost savings initiatives and track PPV.
• Collaborate with planning and project managers on material acquisition.
• Support BPO processing and supplier management tasks.
