Job summary

Merck is seeking an Associate Specialist, Engineering (Biotechnology Solutions) to support vaccine and biologics process development and manufacturing. This role collaborates with Bioprocess Technology Solutions, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and R&D to enable development, scale-up, and commercialization of veterinary products.

Responsibilities include process development, technology transfer, and continuous improvement while ensuring safety, quality, compliance, and operational

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in a relevant science or engineering field is required
• Master’s degree or PhD preferred for advanced roles
• Experience in biopharmaceutical or vaccine process development, R&D, or manufacturing is expected

Responsibilities

• Develop and scale-up bioprocesses for vaccines and biologics
• Support technology transfer from development to manufacturing
• Participate in process development and optimization to meet quality and cost targets
• Support investigations, validation activities, and continuous improvement
• Analyze issues with a data-driven, cross-functional approach
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, QC, R&D, Regulatory, and Technical Services
• Evaluate and implement new technologies for product/process improvements
• Support project management including timelines, deliverables, risk, and mitigation
