Job summary

Aphios Corporation is seeking a Part-Time Accountant to support day-to-day accounting and financial operations at our North Reading, MA facility. This hands-on role suits an accounting professional who thrives in a small, entrepreneurial biotechnology company and values accurate, well-documented records.

You will work with Aphios’ leadership and our Fractional Controller to maintain books, process payroll, and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and audit-ready practices.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• At least 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, AP/AR and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day accounting records and general ledger entries.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Support payroll processing and payroll-related accounting.
• Perform bank, credit card and balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial close.
• Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules.
• Maintain Sage accounting records.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and budget-to-actual reporting.
• Assist with tax preparation and liaise with external accountants and auditors.
• Support internal controls and procedures.
