Axsome Therapeutics is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, and close processes at its HQ in New York City with an on-site requirement of at least three days per week. We are unable to consider candidates who want fully remote work.

The role partners with stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting, strengthen internal controls, and drive process improvements to support growth, including monthly closes, SEC filings, tax compliance, SOX,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance
• CPA certification
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience in biotech or Big 4
• On-site availability Monday, Tuesday & Thursday

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting functions
• Manage monthly and quarterly close and consolidation
• Support SEC filings and external communications
• Coordinate tax compliance with external accountants
• Assist SOX narratives and internal control testing
• Oversee equity plan administration with third party
