Job summary

Acorn Biolabs seeks a Laboratory Technician Level II in Irvine, CA to support upstream/downstream biomanufacturing and biobanking tasks.

You will retrieve samples from LN2, plate hair follicle samples in cleanrooms, monitor cell cultures, and maintain batch records in LIS, contributing to GMP-like GLP-compliant workflows.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of relevant experience and a biology-related degree, with a keen eye for accuracy and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
• Early to Mid-Level: 1–2 years of experience in commercial laboratory, biobanking, cell culture, Biomanufacturing or biospecimen processing (preferred).
• Experience handling biological samples, including cryopreservation and liquid nitrogen storage.
• Experience with ISO-7 and ISO-5 cleanrooms and SOP/GLP compliance.
• Experience in regulated environments (GMP, CLIA, or FDA-compliant labs) is a plus.
• Startup experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve biological samples from liquid nitrogen (LN2) storage tanks or dewars.
• Plate hair follicle samples within ISO-7 and ISO-5 cleanrooms, following all SOPs and GLP.
• Monitor cell cultures routinely and harvest cell-conditioned media.
• Perform aseptic filtration and filling of product vials; inspect, seal, and crimp.
• Maintain batch records and enter data into LIS; document deviations.
• Label and package vials for shipment; support QC and SOP development.
