Cellanome is seeking a detail-oriented Cell Culture Technician to manage daily operations in our BSL-2 cell culture lab in Foster City, CA. The role focuses on maintaining cell lines, ensuring aseptic technique, and supporting research teams with high-quality, contamination-free materials.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of cell handling experience, proficiency with inverted microscopes, hemocytometers, and cryostorage systems, and strong documentation practices.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of cell handling experience.
• Proven mastery of aseptic technique.
• Experience working in a BSL-2 environment.
• Proficiency with inverted microscopes, hemocytometers, and cryostorage systems.
• Strong organizational habits and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Cell Line Maintenance: Routinely passage, feed, bank, and thaw mammalian cell lines.
• BSL-2 Safety & Compliance: Enforce lab safety protocols and PPE usage.
• Waste Management: Safely treat and dispose of biohazardous waste.
• Equipment Upkeep: Maintain and calibrate Class II BSCs, CO2 incubators, centrifuges, and water baths; coordinate certifications.
• Quality Control: Test for mycoplasma, sterility, and cross-contamination; keep records.
• Inventory & Media Prep: Prepare media, buffers, and reagents; manage stock levels.
• Comply with PPE requirements.
