Job summary

Element Biosciences in San Diego seeks a Contracts Manager to join the in-house Legal Team. You will draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements to support research and business operations, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 6+ years in contracts management within life sciences or biotech, with strong drafting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years’ experience as a contracts manager or paralegal in life sciences/biotech.
• Experience in life sciences/biotech preferred; California notary a plus.
• Familiarity with data privacy matters is a plus.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong contract drafting skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate NDAs, MTAs, Instrument Loan Agreements, Reagent Rental Agreements, and other agreements.
• Provide efficient, timely legal support to help the business achieve goals while mitigating risk.
• Escalate and coordinate issues with internal stakeholders to facilitate resolution.
• Provide Marketing Legal Review of collateral, publications/presentations, and customer-facing documentation.
• Develop and maintain templates, playbooks, and procedures for Legal.
• Interface with global teams to gauge and anticipate legal needs.
