Job summary

Travere Therapeutics, a biotechnology company based in San Diego, seeks an Associate Director, Corporate Counsel, Legal Contracts to join its Legal team. The role focuses on drafting, reviewing and negotiating diverse contracts while ensuring regulatory compliance and strong business partnership.

The successful candidate will have a JD, California Bar admission, and 6–8 years of corporate legal experience in biotech or life sciences, with expertise in collaboration, clinical trial and licensing

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school and active California Bar license.
• 6–8 years of attorney experience in life sciences or related field; in-house preferred.
• Experience drafting and negotiating a broad range of contracts typical for biotech and pharma companies.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of agreements across departments (R&D, Clinical Trials, Sponsored Research, Licensing, Master Services, Vendor, Confidentiality, Commercial).
• Provide legal advice on contract matters, including risk assessment and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain and improve contracting policies, procedures and programs in partnership with business and G&A functions.
• Negotiate with sophisticated counterparties and manage complex project plans.
