Job summary

The University of Chicago's Biological Sciences Division, Infectious Diseases division, seeks an Associate Director of Biostatistics to lead complex analyses of bio-behavioral health and network epidemiology data. Qualifications

• Advanced degree in statistics/biostatistics/epidemiology/public health and 7+ years in related field.
• Experience in academic research settings, personnel management, and protocol development.
• Experience with HIV/STI prevention research, epidemiologic study design, and network analysis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee budgeting, personnel management, and project strategy under Biostatistics leadership.
• Collaborate across teams on protocol development, analysis planning, and regulatory submissions.
• Supervise analysts, statisticians, contractors, and students; provide mentorship and guidance.
• Identify appropriate statistical methods for research hypotheses and conduct analyses accordingly.
• Create analytic datasets from multiple sources and document data management procedures.
• Prepare tables/figures for manuscripts and abstracts; contribute to statistical methods sections.
• Present results to researchers and funders at conferences and meetings.
• Assist with grant proposals through power calculations and analytic strategy discussions.
