Job summary

Maximus is seeking a senior data professional to develop advanced analytic methods and scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL Server, Databricks, and PySpark. You will create dashboards in Power BI, model data, and help translate mission needs into analytical outputs.

You’ll collaborate across projects, guide operational partners on performance improvements, and contribute to ML/LLM-related initiatives while maintaining thorough documentation and data quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5–7 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).
• Working knowledge of SQL Server/SQL/T-SQL including querying, joins, indexing, and relational schemas.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark (prefer PySpark).
• Foundational programming skills in Python or R for analysis and ML workflows.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT, data modeling basics, data quality checks, and version control.
• Experience building visual analytics with Power BI and reports, datasets/semantic models, and DAX fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Power Apps and Power Automate for workflow integration.
• Basic familiarity with NLP and Large Language Models and typical use cases.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy advanced methods to analyze data and derive actionable insights for stakeholders.
• Serve as data and analytical contact across multiple projects and guide performance improvement options.
• Analyze data, identify trends, and provide insights and analyses around operations and project data.
• Develop and implement new metrics, functions, and scripts as KPIs as needed.
• Code to segment populations from large datasets and output files per specifications.
• Create and maintain documentation of data sources, transformations, and methodologies.
• Develop ad hoc tools to support analytical work.
• Learn emerging technologies to support company initiatives.
• Support team communication, meetings, and strategy implementation.
• Manage project data acquisition, integration, and preparation for reporting.
• Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL Server and Databricks.
• Develop and maintain curated analytics-ready datasets with data quality and lineage in mind.
• Optimize data processing performance and ensure reliable scheduling and monitoring.
• Apply statistical methods, data mining, and ML to generate forecasts and readiness insights for military missions.
• Create dashboards and analytical products using Power BI with semantic models and robust measures.
• Support low-code solutions by integrating data products into Power Apps and Power Automate.
• Contribute to text and language-focused use cases with unstructured data.
• Familiarity with LLMs and agent concepts and assist seniors in applying these capabilities.
• Document data sources, transformations, assumptions, and methodologies for transparency.
