Job summary

The City of Austin, through its Austin Water division, seeks an Operations & Maintenance Superintendent to manage the daily operations and maintenance of water and wastewater facilities at Hornsby Bend. You will lead supervisors, coordinate with engineers, and ensure safety, permits, and budget adherence.

Essential duties include coordinating facility activities, developing procedures, analyzing data, and preparing budgets while communicating with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 4+ years in industrial facilities management, incl. 3+ years in water systems.
• Or high school diploma with 8+ years in industrial facilities management, incl. 2+ years in a supervisory/management role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Monitor operating expenditures and evaluate bid proposals for selection.
• Coordinate facility activities with system requirements and engineers.
• Manage operation/maintenance of treatment facilities and water/wastewater systems with stakeholders.
• Lead safety programs, regulatory permitting, and environmental compliance.
• Develop and revise operating procedures and performance reports.
