Job summary

Stanford University’s Department of Environmental Health and Safety seeks a Biosafety Specialist II to join the Biosafety & Biosecurity team. You will oversee work with biohazardous materials, recombinant DNA, and biohazards, ensuring compliance with Cal OSHA, NIH Guidelines and other applicable regulations.

You will collaborate with the Biosafety team and support other lab safety programs across the university, preparing for the Administrative Panel on Biosafety and coordinating with the IRB as

Qualifications

• M.A/Ph.D. in Life Sciences (Microbiology, Immunology, Genetics, Molecular Biology) or other similar concentration
• 3+ years of research laboratory experience in a BSL-2 or higher containment
• Experience with human clinical research

Responsibilities

• Review and oversee work with biohazardous materials and recombinant DNA to ensure safety and regulatory compliance
• Coordinate with the Biosafety & Biosecurity team and support other laboratory safety programs across the university
• Prepare for the Administrative Panel on Biosafety and liaise with the Stanford University IRB as needed
