Job summary

Arc Institute in Palo Alto is seeking a Biosafety Manager to lead Arc's Biosafety Program and IBC operations. You will translate biosafety regulations into robust, accessible programs for researchers and administrators.

You will work across EH&S, safety compliance, and regulatory interfaces, training staff, reviewing protocols, and guiding risk assessments to maintain the highest safety standards in our cutting-edge biology and AI-enabled research environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of laboratory experience, including 3+ years EH&S and Biosafety.
• Bachelor's degree in life sciences or related field; Master's or PhD preferred.
• Expert knowledge of biosafety practices, PPE, ventilation, and storage.
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Interest in learning and adhering to company policies.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead biosafety program and IBC operations.
• Advise researchers and regulators on biosafety requirements.
• Review protocols involving biohazards and manage approvals.
• Ensure biosafety program compliance via site inspections.
• Provide training and maintain biosafety documentation.
• Support EH&S program and environmental compliance.
