Job summary

Triumvirate Environmental is seeking a Biosafety Consultant to join our consulting and embedded services team in the greater Boston area. You will scope engagements, run discovery with client stakeholders, and deliver client-ready biosafety assessments and roadmaps to keep research and manufacturing on schedule.

Qualifications

• Progressive experience in biosafety or closely related field.
• Ability to scope engagements and conduct discovery with stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for client leadership.
• Experience with regulatory requirements and lab containment levels.
• Experience coordinating Institutional Biosafety Committees (IBCs).
• Ability to train researchers on biosafety practices.

Responsibilities

• Inspect laboratories, vivaria, and containment spaces against NIH Guidelines and biosafety requirements; document findings with corrective actions.
• Evaluate containment practices and equipment through observation and discussion.
• Identify exposure risks from infectious agents and recombinant DNA; recommend controls.
• Investigate exposure incidents, spills, and near misses; identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Deliver biosafety training to researchers on orientation, BSL-2 practices, spill response, and related topics.
• Prepare risk assessments, IBC protocol records, incident reports, and biosafety cabinet certifications.
• Develop and update biosafety manuals, exposure control plans, SOPs, and health and safety policies.
• Scope and plan engagements with defined deliverables, timelines, and effort; communicate constraints to clients.
