Job summary

ERM is seeking a Managing Consultant, Health & Safety (Biosafety Focus) in Ewing, New Jersey, to shape biosafety and enterprise health & safety programs for biotech, pharmaceutical, and research environments. You will lead strategic initiatives, assess risk, and drive program maturity beyond compliance.

You will develop, implement, and oversee biosafety systems, support IBC governance, mentor consultants, and collaborate with account teams to expand client relationships while delivering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biosafety, Microbiology, Biology, Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of EHS experience with biosafety leadership in BSL‑1/2 laboratories.
• Experience with BSL‑3 programs including operations oversight or governance.
• Proven experience building, deploying, and managing biosafety programs and training.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic biosafety leadership across complex laboratory environments.
• Design and operationalize integrated biosafety and Health & Safety systems.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to strengthen governance, compliance, and risk management.
• Lead program implementation, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build organizational capability through training, coaching, and culture development.
• Drive project delivery and expand client relationships.
