Job summary

Stanford University’s Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) seeks a Fixed term Biosafety Specialist II for 1 year to join the Biosafety & Biosecurity team, overseeing work with biohazardous materials and recombinant DNA. Reporting to the Assistant Director, you will ensure compliance with Cal OSHA, NIH Guidelines and other regulations, minimizing non-compliance risks.

Qualifications

• MA/Ph.D. in Life Sciences or related field.
• 3+ years of research laboratory experience in a BSL-2 or higher containment.
• Experience with human clinical research.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe use of campus biological agents, recombinant DNA and biohazards according to applicable regulations.
• Review clinical gene transfer trials for the Administrative Panel on Biosafety and communicate with the Stanford IRB as needed.
