Job summary

POET is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform safe, efficient repair and preventive maintenance on plant equipment at the Lake Crystal, MN facility. You will work on boilers, cooling towers, centrifuges, pumps, gearboxes, PLCs, and water systems, following SOPs and LOTO procedures.

Occasional weekends and on-call rotation may apply. You will communicate issues to management, train teammates over time, and contribute to a safe, clean, and compliant operation while supporting continuous

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with fabrication, welding, cutting; repair of pumps, gearboxes, airlocks, fans/blowers, valves; boiler ops and water chemistry; conveyors; PM practices; piping and instrumentation work.
• Reading schematic drawings is helpful.
• Microsoft Office skills and ability to learn new programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work with team members and other departments.
• Maintain boiler and cooling tower systems; water testing and adjustments.
• Maintain plant equipment including centrifuges, pumps, motors, gearboxes, electrical systems, and PLCs.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform LOTO functions.
• Operate, maintain, and clean water filtration equipment.
• Understand and operate the plant DCS; use Maximo to order materials and document tasks.
