Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Chemical/Bio Process Engineer in Chicago to design and develop scalable processes for drug substances and products across pre-clinical and clinical development. Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Chemical/Bio Engineering with 10+ (BS), 8+ (MS), or 0+ (PhD) years of industrial experience.
• Strong background in chemical engineering and ability to solve difficult technical problems.
• Excellent oral and written communication; strong teamwork.
• Experience with process scale-up and tech transfer.
• Familiarity with GxP compliance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop robust manufacturing processes and support assets through all development phases.
• Participate in development and characterization of new assets.
• Establish, communicate, and execute research plans.
• Develop commercial ready manufacturing processes in the lab and demonstrate in the pilot plant.
• Address challenging problems with reactions, separations, and isolations using modeling.
• Prepare technical documents and contribute to regulatory filings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings.
