Qualifications

• 4+ years of industry experience, including 2+ years developing software.
• Strong knowledge of sensors, actuators, and data acquisition, and the ways they fail.
• Solid understanding of classical control theory, PID control, feedback loops, stability, tuning, and disturbance rejection.
• Ability to translate process requirements into control logic and robust software designs.
• Commitment to testing and validating behavior against data and failure modes.

Responsibilities

• Tune and troubleshoot real-world control loops; improve automation reliability.
• Evolve AsyncAPI hardware interface for higher-level automation and safe interaction with equipment.
• Improve tuning and failure modes of control loops; develop and optimize new feedback control systems.
• Build software interfaces for sensors, actuators, embedded controllers, and higher-level orchestration systems.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, process, and software engineers to translate system requirements into reliable controls.
• Learn about biotechnology and bioprocess development.
