Job summary

ABEC Inc in Springfield, MO is seeking an Electrical Designer/Drafter to create electrical schematics, control panels, and BOMs for custom bioprocessing equipment.

This hands-on role requires 2+ years of industrial electrical design experience, proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, and the ability to read P&IDs and electrical drawings.

Join a collaborative team supporting PLC/DCS hardware, instrumentation, and motor controls; travel as needed and contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience required.
• Two+ years of industrial electrical design experience.
• Experience with control systems, instrumentation and motor controls.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and P&IDs.
• Familiarity with drafting standards and electrical codes.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts and conduit schedules.
• Create panel assembly drawings and bills of material.
• Apply I/O lists, P&IDs, customer specifications and applicable codes.
• Support PLC, DCS, VFD and motor-control designs.
• Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing, project teams and field service.
• Verify installations and support equipment startups.
• Maintain design documentation and ERP data.
• Identify continuous-improvement opportunities.
• Travel as required.
