Job summary

ABEC in Springfield, MO is seeking an Electrical Design/Drafter to design electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts and conduit schedules for custom biopharma equipment. You will create BOMs, apply I/O lists and P&IDs, support PLC/DCS and motor-control designs, and collaborate with engineers, manufacturing, project teams and field service to ensure successful startups.

This role requires a two-year technical degree and 2+ years' experience; AutoCAD Electrical expertise is strongly

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience.
• Two or more years of industrial electrical design experience.
• Experience with control systems, instrumentation and motor controls.
• AutoCAD Electrical experience.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and P&IDs.
• Familiarity with drafting standards, electrical codes and bills of material.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts and conduit schedules.
• Create panel assembly drawings and bills of material.
• Apply I/O lists, P&IDs, customer specifications and applicable codes.
• Support PLC, DCS, VFD and motor-control designs.
• Work with engineers, manufacturing, project teams and field service.
• Verify installations and support equipment startups.
• Maintain design documentation and ERP data.
• Identify continuous-improvement opportunities.
