Job summary

Sanofi in Swiftwater, PA seeks an Automation Engineer to support manufacturing systems and automation. You will implement changes to automation systems, update design docs, run tests, troubleshoot events, and provide SME-level support for process control systems across the manufacturing facility.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of automation experience in biopharma, knowledge of DCS/SCADA/PLCs (e.g., DeltaV, Aveva), and strong collaboration skills with operations, QA, and IT teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of direct experience in automation systems and support in biopharma or related industries.
• Knowledge of DCS/SCADA/PLCs in a manufacturing context; data acquisition to Historian/ERPs; OPC experience preferred.
• English proficiency in written and spoken forms.

Responsibilities

• System integration of automation with digital applications to support production and data management.
• Ensure GMP/CQ compliance, develop specs, test protocols, and validate systems.
• Identify and manage risks; minimize production disruptions and costs.
• Develop and deliver training materials for staff on automated systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to document requirements and standards.
• Lead design reviews and user acceptance testing during development, change control, and validation.
• Provide on‑call support for manufacturing operations as needed.
• Continuously improve automation performance and flexibility in operations.
