Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Biomedical Technician III to support the Hartford area from 27 Jefferson St, HH Data Bld (10020). The role focuses on checking, maintaining and repairing a wide range of biomedical equipment, with proper documentation and staff education to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

Shift: Sunday, Wednesday – Saturday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. The technician collaborates with Clinical Engineers and Managers, participates in budgeting input, and may take on on-call

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Electronics or Biomedical Technology preferred.
• Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience as a Biomedical Technician or related field.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Must be proficient with computers and computer programs.
• Must have a strong customer focus.
• Certification by AAMI is desired.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, maintains and inventories a wide variety of biomedical equipment and instrumentation through assessment, troubleshooting and diagnosis.
• Documents work performed, utilizing database management system and/or written reports as per department procedure.
• Provides service and support to Hartford HealthCare affiliates and contracted services throughout the state.
• Participates in the strategic planning for medical technology through pre-purchase assessment of medical devices/equipment and evaluation of replacement needs.
• Educates staff on the proper use of biomedical equipment and user-type diagnostic procedures.
• Assists with special projects as necessary, by utilizing specialized knowledge and skills to ensure goals of HHC are achieved in a cost effective and patient centered manner.
