Job summary

Intelas, a Compass Healthcare Company, seeks a BMET II in Oak Park, IL to perform planned maintenance and safety inspections on patient care equipment. You will manage equipment, schedule service, and maintain PM procedures while ensuring calibration and timely responses to clinical calls.

The position offers on-site work with a comprehensive benefits package. Candidates should have an associates degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology or equivalent experience and at least 3 years

Qualifications

• Associates degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology, military training or equivalent experience.
• 3 years servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environment.
• Good communication and strong customer service skills.
• Good organization and time management skills.
• Working knowledge of computer applications pertaining to tracking service histories and producing reports on assets.
• Good trouble-shooting skills.
• Ability and willingness to serve on-call duty as required.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

• Performs planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on a broad range of patient care and selected equipment in compliance with standards.
• Manages all assigned equipment and schedules service.
• Performs pre-acceptance inspections and develops PM procedures on equipment; maintains procedure files.
• Ensures test equipment is calibrated and working properly.
• Responds to calls from clinical departments to evaluate and rectify issues.
• Researches and initiates orders for repair parts within budget parameters.
• Maintains PO log and validates invoices for payment (field service personnel).
• Provides informal training to equipment users and staff as requested.
• Makes recommendations to the Department Manager regarding service strategies.
• Participates in Quality Improvement / Risk Management program.
• Maintains an orderly work environment and participates in meetings.
• Provides emergency on-call responsibilities as needed.
• Documents asset-related actions in compliance with practices.
