Job summary

Intelas, a Compass Healthcare company, is seeking a BMET II in Oak Park, IL to perform maintenance, safety inspections, and service coordination for a broad range of patient care equipment. The role emphasizes compliance, documentation, and collaboration with clinical teams.

The position requires an associates degree in biomedical electronics and at least 3 years of hospital-based service experience, with a valid driver’s license for field travel.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology or equivalent.
• 3 years servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environment.
• Valid driver’s license for field service travel.
• Ability to work independently with some supervision.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Good organization and time management; familiarity with asset-tracking software.

Responsibilities

• Performs planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on patient care and selected equipment.
• Manages all assigned equipment and schedules service.
• Performs pre-acceptance inspections and develops PM procedures; maintains procedures/files.
• Ensures test equipment is calibrated and working properly.
• Responds to clinical calls to evaluate and rectify issues.
• Researches and orders repair parts within budget.
• Maintains purchase order logs and validates invoices (field service).
• Provides informal training to equipment users and staff.
• Makes recommendations on service strategies to the Department Manager.
• Supports Quality Improvement/Risk Management and compliance activities.
• Maintains orderly work environment and participates in meetings.
