Job summary

Intelas, a Compass Healthcare company, is seeking a BMET III to perform planned maintenance and safety inspections on patient care equipment, manage service schedules, and support calibration and documentation across a hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent experience in electronics/biomedical equipment technology or military training.
• Experience servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environment is preferred.
• Willingness to travel for field service positions and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work independently with some supervision and to provide on-call support as needed.
• Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
• Good organization and time management skills are required.
• Familiarity with tracking service histories and producing asset reports is beneficial.
• Willingness to work as part of a team and participate in continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Performs planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on a broad range of patient care and selected support equipment in compliance with established standards.
• Manages all assigned equipment and schedules service.
• Performs pre-acceptance inspections and develops PM procedures on equipment; maintains files on procedures and manuals.
• Ensures test equipment is working properly and calibrated within established intervals.
• Responds expeditiously to calls from clinical departments to evaluate and rectify operator concerns.
• Researches and initiates orders for repair parts within budget parameters.
• Maintains purchase order log and validates invoices for payment (field service personnel).
• Provides informal training to equipment users and staff as requested or when necessary.
• Makes recommendations to the Department Manager regarding service strategies on equipment.
• Participates in Quality Improvement / Risk Management programs and iterates on customer feedback.
• Maintains an orderly work environment and participates in department meetings.
• Provides emergency on-call responsibilities as needed.
• Documents significant asset actions in compliance with department practices.
